52nd Annual Conference of COBSE hosted by BOSSE, Sikkim

It was a bright sunny morning on 23rd November 2023 as the most prestigious Event to commences, it was the three-day 52nd Annual Conference of the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE), organized by the Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), at Chintan Bhawan .

The Conference was based on the theme:” Implementing NEP 2020: Role of School Education Boards ” The National Education Policy 2020 is an elaborated reform that aims to transform the system of education system in India. It looks into various aspects of education like teacher education, school education, higher education, and vocational education. If the conference focused on the role of school education boards in implementing the NEP, it likely involved discussions on policy interpretation, challenges, strategies, and collaborative efforts among the education boards.

The Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education (BOSSE), an open board is an autonomous private institution, established to provide education through open and distance learning modes. BOSSE gives opportunities to various and diverse groups of learners to complete their school education.

Present on the occasion were Sh. Hemant Goyal, Conference Chief Patron and Group Chairperson, BOSSE, Dr. Kuldeep Agarwal, Conference Chairperson and Chairperson, BOSSE, Ms.. Asano Sekhose, President COBSE and Chairperson, Nagaland Board, Sh. GP Upadhyay (IAS), Advisor Mines & Geology Department, Government of Sikkim, Sh. Sonam Denzongpa, Principal Director, Education Department, officers from 39 School Education Boards as well as Faculty and students from different state universities.

 In his welcome address, Dr. Kuldeep Agarwal, Chairperson, BOSSE, Sikkim, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries for the three-day conference. He gave a brief overview of the conference agenda, emphasizing the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) to enhance educational quality.
